Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-11. Working draft pending review by a Florida-licensed attorney.
1. Service
Slipside is a tool for mobile marine mechanics ("Shops") to capture, document, and quote on-site work. Shops are solely responsible for the accuracy of their condition reports, scopes of work, quotes, and any agreements they form with their customers. Slipside does not provide mechanical advice, perform diagnostics, or guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content; all outputs require mechanic review before delivery to customers.
2. Sparks (prepaid credits)
One Spark equals one full intake (photo capture, voice memo, AI generation, customer delivery, PDF, and signature). Sparks are sold in packs and expire 18 months after purchase on a first-in-first-out basis. Sparks are not auto-renewing and are not transferable between Shops except via the documented referral program.
3. Refunds
Unused Sparks are refundable within 30 days of purchase. Partially used packs are refunded pro rata for unused Sparks at the pack's per-Spark price. After 30 days, no refunds. A Spark burned on an AI generation that fully fails (all model fallbacks fail) is automatically refunded.
4. Customer e-signatures
Customer signatures captured on Slipside are intended to conform to Florida's Uniform Electronic Transaction Act (Florida Statutes Chapter 668). The signature image, GPS coordinates at signing, timestamp, IP address, and device user-agent are stamped into the signed PDF for evidentiary purposes.
5. SMS messaging program (Slipside SMS)
Program name: Slipside SMS. Slipside sends transactional text messages on behalf of marine service Shops to the Shop's end customers: each message contains a secure link for the customer to review their boat condition report and quote and to approve the work. Messages are strictly transactional; no marketing or promotional messages are sent.
Consent: Shops are responsible for obtaining customer consent before initiating an SMS through Slipside. The customer provides their mobile number to the Shop when requesting service, and the mechanic confirms that consent at job creation. By tapping Send, the Shop affirms that consent was obtained for the specific transactional purpose of delivering that customer's condition report and quote.
Message frequency: message frequency varies; customers typically receive one message per job. Message and data rates may apply. For help, reply HELP or contact the Shop that requested your service. To stop receiving messages, reply STOP at any time; opt-out and HELP keywords are honored automatically. Mobile opt-in information and phone numbers are never shared with third parties or used for marketing.
6. Warranties
SLIPSIDE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. THE SERVICE IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR A LICENSED MARINE MECHANIC'S JUDGMENT.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount paid by the Shop in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Governing law
State of Florida, exclusive venue in Lee County, Florida.
